Job summary

Michael Page International (Canada) is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead large residential low/mid-rise developments in Ontario. You will define scope with senior management, develop plans, estimate resources, and manage budgets, staffing and schedules to deliver key milestones.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in full cycle residential construction, experience with developers, and strong knowledge of OHSA. This role offers a competitive base salary and strong company culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of full cycle residential low/mid-rise construction experience.
• Experience collaborating with developers and guiding projects from SPA to construction.
• Experience managing multiple large contracts with consultants, construction firms and general contractors.
• Solid knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Ability to liaison with department managers for staffing and resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop project plans and associated communications documents.


• Estimate the resources and personnel required to achieve project goals.


• Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.


• Assess need for additional staff and/or consultants; liaise with department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within and/or outside the organization.


• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.


• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.


• Track project milestones and deliverables.

The Successful Applicant

Minimum 10+ years of relevant full cycle residential low & mid-rise experience in a Construction environment.

• Ideally worked with Developers, understanding how to bring a project from SPA, working drawings to starting the project and building themselves (self-perform)


• Experience managing multiple large construction contracts involving consultants, construction firms and general contractors.


• Solid background in preparing and administering consulting and construction agreements


• Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
