Job summary

Michael Page International (Canada) is seeking a Director of Project Management for a well-known General Contractor in Oakville. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and Coordinators; oversee all phases of commercial construction to ensure on-time delivery, budget adherence, and top-quality results.

You will drive risk management, maintain client and stakeholder relationships, review contracts and change orders, and contribute to business development and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight throughout all phases of commercial construction projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Support project teams by identifying risks, resolving issues, and implementing effective solutions.
• Monitor project performance, financials, schedules, procurement, and resource allocation.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Review contracts, project budgets, schedules, and change orders.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
• Participate in executive planning, forecasting, and business strategy discussions.
• Support business development efforts by assisting with proposals, client meetings, and strategic initiatives when required.
