Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Project Manager in Ontario to lead heavy civil projects from pre‑construction through completion. You will manage design, coordination, budget, and schedule with the Superintendent, while maintaining strong client relations and ensuring timely payments to subcontractors.

The role requires 5–7 years in heavy civil, a related degree, and knowledge of scheduling, contract software, and site safety. Competitive compensation with growth opportunities in a diverse team.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of Heavy Civil experience on roads, bridges, earthworks or similar projects.
  • Construction related degree or diploma with 5–8 years of construction experience or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of construction scopes, scheduling, project management and contract software.
  • Ability to mentor and delegate to a large team while maintaining strong client relations.
  • Experience with structural piling, concrete work and tunneling is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall construction management from pre‑construction to completion with design, coordination, budget, and schedule alongside the Superintendent.
  • Prepare regular billings for Owners and ensure timely subcontractor payments.
  • Meet with Owners and Architects and communicate concerns and company interests professionally.
  • Monitor and forecast project cost reports to maintain positive cash flow.
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to support progress.
  • Submit project reports to Area Manager and escalate risks.

You As a Project Manager Will
  • Provide overall construction management from pre‑construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with the Superintendent
  • Prepare regular, timely and accurate billings for Owners, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
  • Meet with Owners and Architects in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company
  • Monitor, interpret and forecast a project’s cost reports ensuring they are in line with the estimate and maintain a positive cash flow
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing development and progression
  • Submit project reports to Area Manager and communicate with management about project progress and areas of risk that need to be escalated
Is this the right role for you?
  • You have 5 - 7 years of Heavy Civil experience working on roads, bridges, earthworks, or similar projects.
  • You have a construction related degree/diploma and 5 - 8 years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • You have a working knowledge of construction scopes and activities, scheduling, project management and contract software
  • You have the ability to confidently mentor and delegate to a large team while developing and maintaining strong client relations
  • Experience with structural piling, concrete work and tunneling is an asset

The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $130,000
