Job summary

EllisDon in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a Superintendent to provide overall construction management including design, budget and schedule in coordination with the Project Manager, Subcontractors, Owners, Engineers and Architects.

You will lead on-site activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and safety regulations, plan and implement schedules, manage manpower and material quantities, and drive project progress toward successful completion.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Heavy Civil experience on roads, bridges, earthworks, tunneling or similar projects.
• Construction-related degree/diploma with 5-8 years of construction experience or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software.
• Ability to identify problems, evaluate causes and lead a large team to completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction management including design, budget and schedule with PM, Subcontractors, Owners, Engineers and Architects.
• Manage on-site work to ensure compliance with drawings, specs and safety regulations.
• Plan and implement schedules, determine manpower and material quantities, ensure proper equipment and trades are available.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor progress.
• Advise PM and senior management of potential problems and assist in resolving them.

You As a Superintendent Will

• Provide overall construction management including design, budget and schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager, Subcontractors, Owners, Engineers and Architects
• Manage work on site to ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings, specifications and safety regulations
• Plan and implement schedules, determine manpower levels and material quantities, ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s ongoing progression
• Advise Project Manager and senior management of potential problems, work interferences and schedule difficulties and assist in resolving these problems

Is this the right role for you?

• You have 3-5 years of Heavy Civil experience working on roads, bridges, earthworks, tunneling, or similar projects.
• You have a construction related degree/diploma and five to eight years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
• You have a working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
• You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $145,000
