Project Manager

Bay Point Contracting

Location: Barrie, Ontario | On-site and at project locations

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: CAD $95,000 to $125,000 per year

Lead Renovation Projects with Confidence, Quality, and Purpose.

At Bay Point Contracting, we are an established and growing renovation contracting company specializing in residential projects. We believe in doing things right--building trust with our clients, maintaining high standards, and creating a team that supports each other. We do not just renovate spaces--we provide certainty, build strong relationships, and create great careers.

We are looking for an experienced construction professional who combines hands‑on renovation knowledge with strong leadership, organization, and project management skills to help us deliver exceptional results.

About the Position

Bay Point Contracting is seeking a knowledgeable, organized, and results‑driven Project Manager to oversee renovation and construction projects from planning through completion.

This is not a purely administrative project management position. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands‑on construction and renovation experience, understands the practical challenges of working on‑site, and can confidently lead teams while managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships.

You will work closely with Site Leads, skilled tradespeople, subcontractors, suppliers, and company leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to Bay Point Contracting's standards.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates sound judgment, takes ownership of results, communicates effectively, and supports a collaborative and respectful team environment.

Why You'll Enjoy This Role

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of residential renovation projects from start to finish.
  • Apply your construction and renovation expertise to make informed project decisions.
  • Lead and support skilled tradespeople while helping team members develop professionally.
  • Work closely with company ownership and contribute to operational improvements.
  • Exercise independent judgment when addressing construction challenges.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Improve project scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and construction processes.
  • Play an important role in maintaining the company's reputation for exceptional workmanship and customer service.

If you take pride in leading successful renovations, solving complex construction challenges, and helping teams deliver their best work, this could be an excellent opportunity.

Duties
Project Planning & Execution
  • Manage residential renovation and construction projects from commencement through successful completion.
  • Develop project schedules, coordinate activities, and monitor progress to meet established deadlines.
  • Oversee project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, suppliers, and subcontractors to maintain efficient project execution.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify project risks, anticipate challenges, and implement effective solutions to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Prepare change orders, track project updates, and maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular updates to company ownership.
Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with Site Leads and skilled tradespeople to align project plans with daily site operations.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and support to project teams while encouraging accountability and teamwork.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors to ensure work meets project specifications, quality expectations, and schedules.
  • Address job‑site challenges promptly and make informed decisions to maintain project progress.
  • Promote clear communication between field teams, clients, suppliers, and management.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship throughout every phase of construction.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and address quality concerns before they affect project outcomes.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with applicable building codes, permits, regulations, and safety requirements.

  • Monitor adherence to company procedures and recommend improvements to construction methods, productivity, and quality control.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the renovation process.
  • Provide timely project updates, communicate expectations, and address client questions or concerns professionally.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project partners.
  • Manage challenging situations constructively while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Support the company's commitment to outstanding customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Represent Bay Point Contracting professionally and identify opportunities for future business.
Requirements
