A leading staffing company is seeking a contractor for a 12-month role in Toronto focused on developing the Operational Resilience program for GBM Canada. The successful candidate will engage with stakeholders, assist in project management tasks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role offers exposure to high visibility opportunities within capital markets and is ideal for individuals with a strong background in operational resilience and project management.
• Business Line: The Continuity & Operational Resilience team contributes to the overall success of GBM Business Continuity and Operational Resilience team globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures and adheres to bank risk appetite.
• Project: Contributes to the overall success of GBM (Global Banking & Markets) Business Continuity and Operational Resilience team globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures and adheres to bank risk appetite.
• Reason for request: Require contractors to assist in the development of GBM Canada’s Operational Resilience program, including assistance with process mapping, scenario testing, and project management.
• Exposure to contribute to build a program in GBM team
• High visibility to other opportunities within the capital markets, corporate & investment banking
• More exposure to regulatory requirements in Operational Resilience
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems and knowledge;
• Assist in the development of the Operational Resilience program by planning sessions to determine GBM Canada critical business services, impact tolerances, process mapping and vulnerability remediation efforts;
• Participate with the team in working with the business lines and internal stakeholders in understanding the regulatory framework and developing systems and processes to ensure compliance;
• Assist in the preparation of presentation materials, and progress reports to stakeholders, including senior management;
• Attend program meetings, develop meeting minutes, and serve as program secretary;
• Provide and maintain project related documentation including meeting minutes, risks & issues logs, project plans, and task lists;
• Administrative duties include folder organization and calendar management;
• Assist with stakeholder engagement, participation, and management through organization of workshops, and tabletop exercises;
• Prepare operational resilience related materials for exercises, committees, crisis task forces, and working groups (external and internal);
• Assist with audit requests for information, and remediation efforts for GBM operational resilience and business continuity;
• Assist Manager of Operational Resilience with other administrative duties as required;
• Understand how the bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions;
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Client’s values, Code of Conduct and Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligation with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk;
• Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
• 2-4 Years of relevant Coordination Experience
• Experience within Operational Resilience (OSFI E-21 experience an asset)
• Knowledge of and exposure to project management
• Advanced computer skills particularly with MS Office (Excel, Word and Power Point)
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in financial industry
• Prior FI Experience an asset
• Strong collaboration skills
• Detail-oriented
• Comfortable engaging stakeholders, managing workshops and stakeholder participation
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• The successful candidate must have Operational Resilience experience to be considered for this role.
• Strong presentation skills and comfortable leading meetings, organization and professional creation of Word Documents, Excel Files, PowerPoint Presentations, and MS Visio Maps, Detail oriented, asks questions with Project management exposure and experience.
• Undergraduate degree in business-related studies or equivalent work experience
• Structure and Format: First interview held via MS Teams video, second in-person
• First round panel interview with Hiring manager (30 mins)
• Second round interview with Director, hiring manager, and member of team (30 mins)
