About The Organization

The Palliative Care Research Program at Dalhousie University focuses on advancing research and practice in palliative care across pediatric and adult populations, end-of-life care, MAID , and grief. Our interdisciplinary research team aims to address public health palliative care approaches to care, including through death and grief literacy education and policy development, rigorous investigation, and innovation.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for managing administrative aspects of a number of research studies. Duties will include budget and payroll management, liaison with Research Ethics Boards (REBs), managing research timelines, data management, and facilitating communication among research team members across multiple institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor study budgets and payroll activities.
  • Develop, submit, and manage ethics applications across multiple REBs.
  • Maintain accurate records and reference management systems.
  • Coordinate research timelines and ensure adherence to project milestones.
  • Facilitate and document team meetings and communications across sites.
  • Oversee data management activities and maintain data security and privacy.
  • Create and maintain basic webpages for the promotion of team activities.

Note

The successful applicant will primarily work remotely, with occasional presence in-person on-campus to meet client needs and operation requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters in a health sciences or social sciences discipline (e.g., epidemiology, community/public health, health economics, nursing, sociology)
  • Degree or diploma in a related health profession (e.g., Nurse, Allied Health, Psychology) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be accepted
  • Experience in budget management, payroll processing, and research administration.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft based programs)
  • Demonstrated initiative and the willingness to work closely with members of the research team and community collaborators.
  • Ability to be self-directed, and to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Assets

  • Previous experience in multi-site research coordination.
  • Knowledge of palliative care research.
