Job summary

Winpak Ltd. is seeking a Production Planner to join the Production Control team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. You will develop and manage weekly production schedules and review demand and supply to optimize plant capacity.

The role involves planning sales orders, releasing work orders, and ensuring smooth operations across all work centers to minimize disruptions and maintain customer satisfaction, in line with Winpak standards.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment with scheduling basics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word).
  • Strong organizational, time-management and multi-priority handling in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication across organizational levels.

Responsibilities

  • Plan weekly production schedules and release work orders to support smooth operations across all work centers.
  • Allocate demand to appropriate work centers to optimize efficiency, lead-time and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to reduce aged inventory and improve inventory turnover.
  • Monitor daily schedules to ensure on-time delivery and address production control issues.

Job description

Winpak Division is seeking aProduction Plannerto join ourProduction Controlteam based inWinnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting to theSupervisor, Production and Inventory Control, this role is responsible for developing and managing weekly production schedules and evaluating future demand and supply requirements to ensure optimal utilization of plant capacity.

The Production Planner will plan sales orders and release work orders in a timely and structured manner to support smooth operations across all work centers. This role plays a key part in maintaining efficient production flow, minimizing disruptions, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction in alignment with Winpak standards.

Current Winpak employees who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan custom orders, and work towards achieving a completion date that meets our internal and external customer expectations.
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurate, indicate what materials are to be used, what materials are to be produced, and clearly note any necessary special instructions required.
  • Allocate demand to the appropriate work centers to ensure that we achieve optimum efficiency, lead-time and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to ensure that we continually look at methods to reduce aged inventory and increase our inventory turn ratio.
  • Pinpoint bottleneck resources and adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Sequence the week’s workload in a fashion that maximizes productivity, efficiency, and work center utilization.
  • Monitor and maintain daily schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Address inquiries pertaining to production control issues from the Marketing and Technical Departments.
  • Respond to inquiries in keeping with Winpak's Total Quality Program.
Required Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a basic understanding of production scheduling processes.
  • 1+ year of experience in production planning, scheduling, and/or production control.
  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word.
  • 1+ year of experience in a role requiring strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • 1+ year of experience demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at various levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education and/or CPIM/APICS are an asset.
  • This is a100% on-site positionbased at100 Saulteaux Crescent, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3T3, Canada.
