Job summary

Sandvik Mining, Ground Support Division in Saskatoon is hiring a Production Operator to run production processes, calibrate and operate machines, and ensure quality standards. You will participate in material handling, machine setup, and routine maintenance while following safety guidelines and 5S housekeeping practices.

The role requires attendance, English communication, basic math skills, and the ability to work shifts in a manufacturing setting. A Grade 12 diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
  • Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions/drawings.
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to meet attendance/punctuality requirements.
  • Ability to work shift-work.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs, occasionally 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate machines used in production processes.
  • Follow procedures for operating CNC and conventional manufacturing equipment.
  • Select and measure raw materials to specifications for production.
  • Identify and fix minor machine malfunctions; perform basic cleaning and maintenance.
  • Inspect finished parts for tolerances using precision tools.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards (5S).
  • Contribute to manufacturing of components and finished goods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
