Job summary

Elmer's Manufacturing Ltd. is seeking a Product Design Engineering Student to join the Product Design department for a 4- or 8-month term. You will design new products, build prototypes, and work with field tests to gather feedback and implement improvements.

The role involves prototyping, integrating refinements into production, and assisting in material and process selection. Travel domestically and internationally for short periods is required, and a Class 5 driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Biosystems Engineering (completed or in progress).
• Knowledge of GD&T and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Experience with design tools such as Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD).

Responsibilities

• Be a key person in an engineering environment that will fuel your professional development.
• Design new products and build prototypes.
• Work with prototypes in the field to gather and implement feedback.
• Integrate new products and product refinements into production.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support Manufacturing Engineering in selecting materials and manufacturing processes.
• Support Supply Chain and Purchasing in vendor selection.
• Plan and manage projects.
