As the Procurement Manager, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the network, including product development, sustainability, technology, marketing, operations, food safety, legal, engineering, asset reliability, and others, to create and implement strategic source plans and identify and implement new value-add initiatives. You will provide procurement leadership, support, and expertise in people leadership, supplier development, selection, issue resolution, category management, negotiations, contract development, demand management, and issuing for company-wide sourcing initiatives. You will be part of the Maple Leaf Foods Direct Procurement team managing over $400 million in annual spend across various categories in a fast-paced environment focused on maximizing value, reducing risk, and stakeholder support. Procurement Operations & Sourcing
- Lead and support stakeholders to develop, implement, and measure strategic plans aligned with Maple Leaf Foods' objectives.
- Oversee the Procurement Operations team responsible for SAP supply contracts, material coverage, and supplier capabilities. Manage daily tactical activities including new material setups, quotes, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support day-to-day procurement activities, new product launches, risk mitigation, and cost savings projects.
- Ensure service levels for quotes, material setup, and supplier expectations are met to support business continuity.
- Deliver market-leading cost savings and continuous improvement contributions.
- Evaluate and implement plans for smooth material flow to support production and demand.
- Use market intelligence to identify opportunities, align supplier innovation with company needs.
- Coordinate with legal and stakeholders to develop and negotiate contracts.
- Manage supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and resolve disputes.
- Handle contract renewals and gather feedback for process improvements and supplier programs.
Business Support and Projects
- Partner with other functions to drive priorities.
- Guide stakeholders on supplier capabilities for cost reduction and efficiency projects.
- Manage timelines for packaging and ingredients to ensure production success.
Leadership and Development
- Hire, lead, and develop the procurement team.

What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or MBA (asset).
- 5+ years in Procurement/Supply Chain, with multi-category sourcing experience.
- Understanding of full Supply Chain processes.
- Leadership ability, influence, and followership.
