Position Summary

The Manager, Procurement is responsible for executing the Strategic Sourcing process for various indirect spend categories including Logistics/Transportation, Technology, Construction/FM/Equipment, Operations, Corporate Services, Marketing, and others to leverage Walmart Canada's spend scale. This role supports team members including Associate Managers, SR Managers, Directors, and SR Directors.

What You'll Do

1. Demonstrate leadership skills in influencing stakeholders and Business Units to follow Walmart Canada's Strategic Sourcing policies, enabling competitive tenders and cost containment, with timely execution.
2. Collaborate with management to develop a Road Map of strategic initiatives over 2-3 years by creating comprehensive category strategies. Conduct analysis to identify sourcing, demand management, and supplier collaboration opportunities. Align with WM International Markets and US on category strategies.
3. Monitor the marketplace to provide insights on spend and savings opportunities through data analysis, industry benchmarks, and experience. Work with teams to deliver savings.
4. Implement the corporate Strategic Sourcing process using BuyIt Sourcing tool: from project identification to negotiation and contract support. Develop vendor evaluation processes aligned with best practices.
5. Conduct complex analyses for external negotiations, preparing key messages, market trends, and benchmarking opportunities for contract improvements.
6. Support contract negotiations and SLAs, participate in strategic reviews, and identify new savings opportunities through SRM.
7. Track performance of initiatives, measure against KPIs, ensure compliance, and report regularly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; MBA preferred
• 5+ years relevant experience
• Understanding of global strategic objectives and how Sourcing supports P&L results
• Experience negotiating in a large retail environment with $1B+ indirect spend
• Broad knowledge of retail operations
• Strong organizational, communication, and influencing skills
• Willingness to travel across Canada and internationally
