As the Procurement Manager, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the network, including product development, sustainability, technology, marketing, operations, food safety, legal, engineering, asset reliability and others, to create and implement strategic source plans and identify and implement new value-add initiatives. You will provide procurement leadership, support and expertise in the areas of people leadership, supplier development, category management, negotiations and contract development, demand management and issuance for company-wide sourcing initiatives. You will be part of the Maple Leaf Foods Direct Procurement team managing over $400 Million in annual spend across various categories in a fast-paced environment. The team focuses on maximizing value, reducing organizational risk, and providing excellent stakeholder support. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead challenging procurement initiatives using industry-leading sourcing processes and mature e-procurement tools.

• Leads and supports internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, and measure strategic plans aligned with organizational objectives.
• Oversees procurement operations related to SAP supply contracts, ensuring accurate material coverage and supplier capability alignment.
• Supports day-to-day procurement activities, including new product launches, cost savings projects, and risk mitigation.
• Ensures service level expectations are met with suppliers and internal teams, maintaining business continuity.
• Delivers market-leading cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manages the flow of materials to support production and customer demand, leveraging market intelligence and trends.
• Coordinates contract negotiations and manages supplier performance and dispute resolution.
• Leads contract renewal processes and initiates process improvements and supplier programs.

Business Support & Projects

• Builds partnerships across functions to drive priorities and supports improvement projects to reduce costs and increase efficiencies.
• Manages timelines for packaging and ingredient deliveries to ensure production success.

Leadership & Development

• Hires, leads, and develops the direct materials supply team.
• Engages in ongoing learning and development, promoting knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Supports performance management and strategic direction with procurement governance.
• Mentors and motivates a diverse team, fostering a culture of feedback, ethics, and excellence.

What You’ll Bring:

• Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or an MBA is preferred.
• 5+ years of procurement and supply chain management experience across multiple categories.
• Understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes.
• Proven leadership, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong negotiation, market analysis, and contract development skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
