Summary of day-to-day responsibilities :
- The Buyer is a results-driven team player who will support all of the purchasing activities of the Bank.
- In this capacity, the person will be a subject matter expert on the Ariba platform, acting as a key point of contact for all systems-related inquiries.
- In this role, you will interface with stakeholders across the organization, internal business partners, subject matter experts, other members of SSG and external 3rd-parties to support the execution of the Bank’s sourcing needs.
Reporting to the Manager, Central Buying Team, the analyst’s key accountabilities are :
- Leads tactical sourcing engagements by reviewing and processing contract drafts.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving Purchase Requisitions, coordinating with vendors and tracking PO progress as required.
- Ensures the accuracy of sourcing requests (SR) and purchase requisitions details.
- Manages issues with SRs and POs in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ensures data accuracy within the tools and provides recommendations for more efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Responsible for the management and support of all SSG purchasing tools and is a subject matter expert on engagements, complex Purchase Orders (POs), e-Auctions and 3 bids and a buy functionality.
- Ability to analyze large sets of data, providing detailed information to support Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) buying / sourcing decisions.
- Proactively engages with the Strategic Sourcing Functions and Purchasing Team to identify new opportunities to leverage purchasing tools and processes, and / or e-Auction related buying strategies.
- Drives value through early engagement, commercial acumen, market knowledge and understanding of the Ariba tool.
- Ensures effective delivery of Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) services to business partners and ensures prompt and thorough resolution of all client issues.
- May support the monthly reporting and tracking for departmental KPI’s and Savings Targets.
- Fosters strong collaborative relationships with partners in SSG (TPRM, Category Leads, etc.), the business, and vendor management communities.
Must have :
- Demonstrated experience of Strategic Sourcing practices
- Previous experience working in the procure to pay and source to contract process
- Strong knowledge of buying group functions and customer service
- Strong commercial acumen and business judgment
- Demonstrated stakeholder / relationship management skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, customer-service focused environment
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Excellent working knowledge of office software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
