Salary Range: $78,336 - $97,920 per annum + comprehensive benefits

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton

Hours of work:35 hours per week

Who We Are

On behalf of Peel Region, Peel Housing Corporation, and Peel Regional Police, we assist in ensuring that the procurement of goods and services complies with the Procurement By-Law, Municipal Act, and applicable Trade Agreements while ensuring best value for money.

What You Will Do In This Role

  • Lead the procurement process
  • Provide consultation in the selection of the appropriate procurement method or market approach
  • Conduct major commodity procurements, special project studies and contract negotiations
  • Develop and execute requests for quotations, tenders and proposals for goods and services
  • Report writing
  • Facilitate the evaluation of vendor submissions
  • Provide customer focused service to clients
  • Recommend appropriate solutions to support program needs
  • Assist with resolving vendor performance issues

What The Role Requires

  • A university degree or college diploma in business administration, finance, engineering, technology or other related discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years of procurement experience
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered

Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient computer skills using MS Office and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning solutions (ex. PeopleSoft, SAP)
  • Proven background in dealing with a variety of procurements for both goods and services
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Strong customer service, excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

Nice To Have

  • Purchasing certification (ex. CSCMP, CPPB)
  • Experience using electronic bidding platform, bids&tenders

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.

It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
