Job summary

League is building the next generation of intelligent, human-centered healthcare experiences. We seek a Principal Design Engineer to own the design system across web, iOS, and Android, bridging design and code and enabling AI agents to build with it effectively.

You will lead component authoring, theming, and tooling, ensuring parity between design libraries and shipped code, while advancing accessibility and documentation for the entire team.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a hybrid design/frontend role, frontend engineering, product design or design engineering.
• A portfolio of shipped work where you did both the design and the build.
• You’ve authored a design system. We’ll ask which decisions were yours, what you got wrong, and what you’d do differently.
• Strong design sensibility with craft, consistency and interaction quality.
• Fluent in production React and TypeScript with design-to-code mapping.
• Experience authoring design systems and tooling for AI-enabled workflows.
• Daily use of Figma for advanced design system work.
• Experience writing and documenting AI workflows and workflows for design teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the design system: component authoring, theming architecture, and parity between the design library and what ships in code.
• Own the tooling between design and code, including token pipelines, plugins, and automated checks.
• Build the infrastructure for AI agents to use the design system correctly, with agent skills and docs.
• Ship production code into the design system and the surfaces that consume it.
• Maintain cross‑platform consistency across web, iOS, and Android.
• Set accessibility bar inside the system and propagate it to teams.
• Own architectural questions and push decisions to closure.
• Document and teach AI workflows to improve the overall design practice.
• Set craft bar by shipping quality work and aligning with designers, engineers, and leads.
