Position Summary

The Premium Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The Premium Bartender must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The team member must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. This role requires Smart Serve certification and full compliance with AGCO alcohol service regulations, as well as strong communication and multitasking skills. A polished, professional demeanor and guest-first attitude are essential.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $17.60 CAD and is tip eligible.

About the Venue

TD Coliseum in Hamilton, ON – $280 million renovation. The project will transform the facility into an 18,000-seat capacity venue with a reimagined facade, premium seating, enhanced acoustics, improved sightlines, upgraded concourses, optimized clubs and suites, and artist lounges. The newly modernised venue will join a rapidly growing southwestern Canadian marketplace with the ability to accommodate larger shows alongside Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. Opened Fall 2025.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
• Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks under AGCO and Smart Serve regulations pertaining to the service of alcohol.
• Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check the guest’s ID in accordance with regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
• Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns.
• Contact a management member if he/she is unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making.
• Request additional products or restock products as required.
• Handle cash accurately; responsible for the issue bank at the corresponding bar.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station at all times. Ensures bar equipment is clean & well maintained.
• Other duties as assigned, such as set-up and breakdown of bar equipment as required and assisting with organization of the cooler, liquor cages, and dry storage areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of alcohol service experience in a restaurant, premium hospitality, or event venue setting.
• Strong classic cocktail, wine, and beverage knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience in premium customer service and guest interaction.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Professional appearance and positive, team-first attitude.
• Must hold a valid Smart Serve certification.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Available to work an event-driven schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
