Job summary

GRETA and Hudsons Canada’s Pub in Vancouver is seeking an energetic Bartender to join our team. You will craft cocktails, beers and other beverages with precision and speed, while ensuring guest satisfaction and a memorable experience.

Role requires knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer and bar equipment, with an emphasis on upselling premium drinks and maintaining bar cleanliness. Flexible evenings/weekends and potential growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of hands-on bartending in a fast-paced, high-volume bar.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer and bar equipment.
  • Ability to upsell premium drinks and recommend new products to boost guest satisfaction and sales.
  • Confident and charismatic in guest interactions; you’re creating moments.
  • Ability to de-escalate conflicts when needed.
  • Maintain accuracy in measurements, recipes and alcohol limits during peak hours.
  • Adapt to changing service demands and priorities with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Stay organized and contribute as a team player in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent communication, listening and response to team and guests.
  • Stand for extended periods; physical stamina and resilience in busy settings.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds; readiness for physical demands as part of the role.
  • Must possess Serving It Right (SIR) certification or willingness to obtain before first shift.

Responsibilities

  • Create exceptional guest experiences through attentive service and a friendly demeanor.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, beer and other beverages with speed, accuracy and style.
  • Educate guests about our diverse drink selection to help them choose perfect beverages.
  • Maintain bar cleanliness and organization of tools and glassware.
  • Provide simple arcade game operation instructions and suggest popular choices to guests.
  • Execute opening/closing duties including setup, restocking and shift handover.
  • Share origins and flavors of authentic international street food options to enhance dining.
  • Assist with stock rotation and expiry checks; communicate low inventory needs.
  • Maintain accuracy and honesty in cash handling and POS transactions.
  • Collaborate with team to keep service smooth, efficient and fun.
  • Check IDs and monitor guest behavior to ensure safe alcohol consumption and SIR compliance.
  • Assist with monthly inventory, restocking and daily bar prep as needed.

Job description

As a Bartender, you’ll be at the heart of the guest experience, crafting drinks with precision, personality, and speed. You’ll bring energy and confidence to every interaction, helping guests discover their new favourite cocktail, beer, or arcade game.

Beyond pouring drinks, you’ll ensure the bar stays clean, stocked, and comply with ProServe and AGLC regulations. This role is perfect for someone who thrives under pressure, loves creating memorable moments, and can balance fun with professionalism behind the bar

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess 1-3 years of hands‑on experience bartending in a fast paced, high volume bar
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and bar equipment
  • Ability in upselling premium drinks and recommending new products to enhance guest satisfaction and boost sales
  • Confidence and charisma in guest interactions - you're not just pouring drinks, you’re creating moments
  • Ability to calmly handle guest concerns or manage difficult situations, including de‑escalating conflicts when needed
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in measurements, recipes, and alcohol limits even during high‑volume periods
  • Quickly adapt to changing service demands and shift priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Have outstanding time management abilities, adeptly juggling multiple tasks while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail
  • Stay organized in fast‑paced settings while actively contributing as a team player.
  • Exhibit excellent communication abilities, whether conveying information effectively or actively listening and responding to team members and guests.
  • Comfortably work on foot for extended periods, showcasing stamina and resilience in bustling restaurant settings.
  • Handle physical demands including lifting and reaching, regularly lifting objects up to 50 pounds such as kegs, bending to serve food, and reaching to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Must possess valid Serving It Right (SIR) certification or be willing to obtain prior to first shift.

  • Check guest ID when required and monitor guest behaviour to ensure safe alcohol consumption and compliance with LCRB and Serving It Right (SIR) standards.
  • Assist with monthly inventory, restocking, and daily bar prep as needed

AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • This role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Typical shifts range between 4–8 hours and may extend into late night hours.
