Job summary

OLIVER & BONACINI is seeking a Bartender for events at Rogers Place in Edmonton. You will bring beverage knowledge, guest engagement and hospitality craftsmanship to a high-energy setting, delivering crafted drinks and excellent service.

Role requires standing long hours, stamina for busy shifts, and strong teamwork. This position offers gratuities and a dynamic team environment with opportunities across Canada’s hospitality group.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years bartending experience in a similar environment.
• Impeccable wine, beer and classic cocktail knowledge.
• Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to multi-task and be a strong lounge server.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Stand for long periods and lift/move beer kegs, liquor and wine boxes.
• Available weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Flexibility for all Rogers Place events and day/night shifts.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive guest experience through interaction and steps of service.
• Knowledge of all food and beverage items to make recommendations.
• Promptly receive drink orders and pour beverages per O&B standards.
• Present beverages clearly at the service bar pickup area.
• Communicate beverage descriptions, specials and information to guests and team.
• Set up and take apart bar area, dishwasher and cappuccino machine.
• Stock and maintain bar products including mise en place.
• Check beer keg and liquor levels and inventory beverages and supplies.
• Assist manager with inventory ordering.
• Be aware of guest allergies and special requests.

Job Description

Our Bartenders take pride in their food, wine and spirit knowledge. They build relationships with their guests and are often asked for by name. They display natural showmanship, have great communication skills and an eye for detail. A Bartender receives beverage orders and makes beverages in a timely and efficient manner maintaining all O&B standards. They also communicate beverage descriptions and modifications with team members to ensure guests receive their requested beverage.

The day to day:

• Create a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to the steps of service
• Knowledgeable of all food and beverage items in order to make recommendations
• Promptly receive drink orders and pour all beverages according to O&B standards
• Present beverages in a clear and organized manner at the service bar pick up area
• Communicate beverage descriptions, specials and information to guests and team members
• Setup and take apart bar area, dishwasher and cappuccino machine
• Stock and maintain all bar products including mis en place
• Check and maintain beer keg and liquor levels
• Count and take inventory of all beverages and supplies and assist manager with inventory ordering
• Be aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
• Other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

• Experience with cocktail batching an asset Impeccable wine, beer and classic cocktail knowledge
• Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service
• Ability to multi-task and be a strong lounge server
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and able to lift and move beer kegs, liquor and wine boxes
• Available weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
• This position requires flexibility and availabilities for all the events taking place at Rogers Place and day/ night shifts.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
