Job summary

Paladin Airport Security Services is hiring Pre-Board Screening Officers to help keep passengers safe at the North Peace Regional Airport in Fort St. John. You will screen passengers and baggage, operate X-ray and metal detectors, and enforce regulations with professionalism.

We offer paid training at CAD 24.01/hour rising to CAD 26.53/hour after certification, plus benefits and a uniform. Local candidates, bilingual a plus, and ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong English communication skills.
• French language is an asset.
• Local to Fort St. John area.
• Must be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Must meet CATSA medical requirements.

What do Pre-Board Screening Officers do?

You will be using your exceptional customer service skills to uphold the safety of passengers and create a positive travel experience by:

• Efficiently screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints
• Scanning and testing baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors and other technology, along with physical search techniques
• Protecting restricted areas
• Communicating clearly and effectively
• Upholding all regulations with vigilance
• Managing conflict

You will receive paid training at $24.01/hour , increasing to $26.53/hour after successful completion of training and full certification.. You’ll also receive comprehensive benefits and a great uniform!

What You Bring:

• Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
• Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
• Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Candidates must be local to Fort St. John, or the surrounding area
• Must be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

The position is fully based at the North Peace Regional Airport in Fort St. John (YXJ).Work hours will reflect opening hours of the airport, from early morning to evening, and including weekend and holidays.

If you are successful in the application process, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which requires an extensive background check. Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course, which must be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Pre-Board Screening Officer. #PASS1A
