Job summary

Paladin Airport Security Services is recruiting Pre-Board Screening Officers for the Cranbrook Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC). You will screen passengers, operate X-ray and screening technologies, and uphold security protocols to ensure a safe, smooth travel experience.

Training is paid, with progression to full certification and salary increases. Ideal candidates demonstrate excellent customer service, flexible availability for all shifts, and strong English communication; French

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year.
• Open availability to work any shift as required by airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset.
• Ability to comply with CATSA medical requirements.
• Canadian citizen or permanent resident status.

What do Pre-Board Screening Officers do?

You will be using your exceptional customer service skills to uphold the safety of passengers and create a positive travel experience by:

• Efficiently screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints
• Scanning and testing baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors and other technology, along with physical search techniques
• Protecting restricted areas
• Communicating clearly and effectively
• Upholding all regulations with vigilance
• Managing conflict

You'll receive paid training at $23.57/hour , increasing to $26.11/hour after successful completion of training and full certification. You’ll also receive comprehensive benefits and a great uniform!

What You Bring:

• Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one (1) year
• Open availability to work any shift as required by the airport operations, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset
• Ability to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Candidates must be local to Cranbrook, or the surrounding area
• Must be Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

If you are successful in the application process, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which requires an extensive background check. Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Officer Foundations (SOF) course, which must be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Pre-Board Screening Officer.
