Job summary

Paladin Airport Security Services (PASS) is seeking a Pre-Board Screening Officer to help ensure safe and smooth passenger travel at the airport. You will screen passengers and baggage, assist travellers, and operate screening equipment with professionalism.

Applicants must be 18+, hold a high school diploma or GED, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and be able to obtain Transport Security Clearance. English fluency is required; French is a valued asset.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
• Able to obtain Transport Security Clearance and have no unpardoned criminal record
• Fluency in English (verbal and written); French is a strong asset
• Able to comply with CATSA medical requirements
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service in a high-volume environment for 1+ year
• Able to work any shift including early morning, day, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
• Physical ability: lift/push/pull up to 10kg; standing/walking for long periods

What do Pre-Board Screening Officers do?

You will use your strong customer service skills to uphold the safety of passengers and create a positive travel experience by:

• efficiently screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints
• providing information professionally and with integrity
• scanning/testing baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors and other technology
• protecting restricted areas
• upholding all regulations with vigilance

What you bring to PASS:

• You are 18 or older
• You have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• You are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
• You are able to obtain a Transport Security Clearance and have a no unpardoned criminal record
• You have fluency in English (verbal and written). Fluency in French is considered a strong asset- preference is given to Bilingual Candidates.
• You are able to comply with the CATSA medical requirements
• You have demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one year
• You are available to work any shift as required by the airport operation. This will include early morning, day, late evening, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
• Physical Requirements of the role include but are not limited to: Visual (including colour) and hearing acuity, ability to lift/push/pull items up to 10kg, bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling and standing/walking/sitting for periods up to 2 hours.
