Qualifications

• Powerline Technician Certificate of Qualification (minimum 2nd year) or Red Seal Certification and Grade 12 diploma.
• Valid Ontario DZ or AZ-Restricted Driver’s License.
• Ability to read technical documents and perform field calculations.
• Physically demanding work, heights and extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Construct and maintain overhead and underground distribution lines up to 27.6 kV.
• Work with live voltages using protective equipment and live line tools.
• Inspect installations per Electrical Safety Authority and ERTH standards.
• Standby on-call duty and respond to 24-hour emergencies.
• Carry out switching instructions and apply for hold off permits.
• Minor Tree trimming as required.
