Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a skilled Journeyperson or Apprentice Linesperson to support the construction, installation, and maintenance of overhead and underground powerlines in Ontario. You will work at heights, operate bucket trucks and other equipment, and ensure installations meet industry safety standards.

The role requires climbing poles, reading blueprints, and collaborating with a team across Ontario. Overtime and travel to diverse job sites may be required; Ledcor offers a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Journeyman Powerline Technician certification or enrollment in an apprenticeship.
• 1–3 years of experience in powerline construction or strong interest with training.
• Ability to climb poles using spikes and work from bucket trucks or man-lifts.
• Strong knowledge of distribution powerline construction methods and safety procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
• Class 5 driver's license required; Class 1 or 3 preferred with a 5-year abstract.
• Physically able to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and endure varying weather.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Construct, install, inspect, and maintain overhead and underground power distribution systems.
• Operate tools and equipment including bucket trucks, backhoes, trenchers, and digger derrick trucks.
• Troubleshoot and repair distribution powerlines.
• Transport materials used for the installation of electrical systems.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, work plans, and schematics.
• Track daily production, materials usage, and support logistics and crew coordination.
• Follow and promote strict safety practices, adhering to OH&S standards.
• Train and support junior workers or apprentices on proper work practices.
