Job summary

A leading utility contractor in Saskatchewan is seeking a qualified Powerline Technician to construct, maintain, and repair electrical distribution systems. This role involves working with both overhead and underground systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate must hold a Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certification or be a 4th year Apprentice. Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certification is mandatory.
  • 4th year Apprentices will be considered.
  • Proven experience working with power distribution systems is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory and safety procedures required.
  • Valid driver’s license needed.

Responsibilities

  • Install, splice, maintain power cables and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair distribution systems.
  • Conduct switching and grounding of high-voltage equipment.
  • Read construction drawings and cable maps.
  • Maintain records of work performed.
