Job summary

ERTH (Holdings) Inc. is seeking a Powerline Technician based at the Thorndale Operations Center. The role supports constructing and maintaining overhead and underground distribution lines and related apparatus, with on-call availability for 24-hour emergencies per Ontario Energy Board requirements.

Starting rate is $30.07/hour, progressing to $50.11/hour. Journeypersons or 2nd year apprentices are eligible. A DZ/AZ license and a Grade 12 diploma are required.

Qualifications

  • Must possess Powerline Technician Certificate of Qualification (Minimum 2nd Year) or Interprovincial Red Seal Certification.
  • Valid Ontario Class DZ or AZ-Restricted Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and perform accurate mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Erect, rearrange, maintain and remove overhead and underground distribution lines up to 27.6KV.
  • Work live voltages with live line tools and protective equipment on energized circuits up to 27KV.
  • Oversee underground circuits, pole line construction and maintenance.
  • Work near heavy traffic and high voltage equipment with appropriate tools.
  • Inspect electrical installations per Safety Authority and ERTH standards.
  • Perform minor tree trimming as required.
  • Standby on-call duty as required.
  • Carry out switching instructions and apply for hold off permits when necessary.
