Job summary

Ledcor Group in Ontario is seeking a Journeyperson or Apprentice Linesperson to support the construction, installation, and maintenance of overhead and underground powerlines. You will work at heights, operate bucket trucks and other equipment, and ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.

Ideal candidates have a Journeyman certification or are pursuing an apprenticeship, 1–3 years of powerline experience or strong technical training, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Powerline Technician certification or enrollment in a lineman program.
• 1–3 years of powerline construction experience or equivalent technical training.
• Ability to climb poles with spikes and work from bucket trucks or man-lifts.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license; Class 1 or 3 preferred.
• Physically able to work at heights and in varying weather.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Construct, inspect, and maintain overhead and underground power distribution systems.
• Operate bucket trucks, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, digger derrick, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair distribution powerlines.
• Read drawings, work plans, and schematics to guide installations.
• Support logistics and crew coordination; track daily production and materials.
• Adhere to OH&S standards and train junior workers.
