Qualifications

• High school graduation supplemented by journeyperson graduation as an operating line worker and one (1) year experience in line maintenance following certification or have completed the Hydro Group apprenticeship program.
• Thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules.
• Must possess an appropriate valid driver’s license.

Power Line Technician

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Performs maintenance and construction using rubber gloves, cover-up and hot stick and cold methods on all transmission and distribution lines and associated equipment; performs troubleshooting, testing, inspecting and preventative maintenance on all lines, buses and disconnects. May be required to operate boom trucks, muskegs, aerial equipment, tracked equipment and all terrain equipment. All other duties related to or associated with this classification.
• Responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporation's Safety and Health Program. Responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduation supplemented by journeyperson graduation as an operating line worker and one (1) year experience in line maintenance following certification or have completed the Hydro Group apprenticeship program. Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules. Must possess an appropriate valid driver’s license.
