Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to perform semi-skilled and labour tasks with ~1 year building trades experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulations and safety rules.
  • Must possess an appropriate valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of semi-skilled and labour tasks on buildings, roads, grounds and structures; assist trade workers.
  • Perform cleaning, snow removal, garbage removal, landscaping, loading/off-loading and planting.
  • Operate, service and make minor adjustments to equipment (jackhammers, compressors, chainsaws, etc.).
  • Carry out minor repairs to facilities and assist with scaffold erection and other related duties.

Utility Worker

Location: Muskrat Falls Site

DUTIES:
  • Performs a range of semi-skilled and labour type tasks on buildings, roads, grounds, and structures; assists trade workers; performs cleaning, snow removal, garbage removal, landscaping, loading and off-loading, general planting, sandblasting, painting, rigging, scaffold erection; carries out minor repairs to the corporation's facilities; operates, services and makes minor adjustments to equipment, i.e. jackhammers, compressors, chainsaws, brushcutters, lawn mowers and cement mixers. May be required to take water readings. May be required to work at heights up to 130m and in confined spaces. all other duties related to or associated with this classification.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school education supplemented by training in the building trades.
  • Have a working knowledge of and be able to perform semi-skilled and labour type tasks demonstrated through one year experience in the building trades.
  • Shall have a thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules.
  • Must possess an appropriate valid driver's license.
