Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is seeking an Asset Management Performance Specialist (Corporate) to strengthen power system reliability and asset performance in St. John's.

This permanent, full-time role involves analyzing reliability data, developing KPI reports, maintaining outage data, and supporting asset maintenance systems and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • PE designation or Asset Management certification would be an asset.
  • 5–7 years of experience in utility operations, reliability engineering, asset management, or related experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, and communicate transmission & distribution reliability performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reliability performance reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Collect and maintain transmission & distribution outage data with accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare regulatory reporting including PUB and Electricity Canada requirements.
  • Analyze reliability trends and maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop reliability targets, benchmarks, and performance measures aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Support asset and maintenance management processes and reporting tools.

Asset Management Performance Specialist (Corporate)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, analyze, and communicate Transmission & Distribution reliability performance metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reliability performance reports for management, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.
  • Collect and maintain Transmission & Distribution outage data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate standards.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reporting, including Public Utilities Board (PUB) and Electricity Canada reporting requirements.
  • Analyze reliability trends, outage statistics, asset performance, and maintenance trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop reliability targets, benchmarks, and performance measures that support corporate objectives.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of asset and maintenance management processes and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of maintenance management systems, standards, procedures, and reporting tools.
  • Utilize JD Edwards and related business systems to support maintenance management, asset information, and reporting activities.
  • Present technical information and performance results to operational staff, management, and executive leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
What We’re Looking For:
  • A strategic thinker with a strong understanding of power system reliability and utility asset management.
  • Experience analyzing operational performance, reliability data, and maintenance information.
  • Strong understanding of asset management principles and maintenance best practice.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • A Professional Engineering designation or Asset Management certification would be considered an asset.
  • Five (5) to seven (7)years of experience in utility operations, reliability engineering, asset management, or related experience.
  • Experience analyzing operational performance, reliability data, and maintenance information.
  • An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
