Job description

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Power Generation Field Service Technician to join our team in Ottawa.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

• Basic mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance skills.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Red Seal certification in Heavy Duty Mechanics (421A), Automotive (310S), or Truck Trailer (310T) is mandatory.
• Electrical knowledge and experience are assets.
• Reliability security clearance is an asset.
• Good customer relation skills.
• Valid local driver's permit.
• Clean driver's abstract.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact by:

• Establishing and developing productive customer relations and ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
• Using specialized tools and following documented procedures to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer sites.
• Performing preventative maintenance activities as per schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
• Escalating unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisors, and developing technicians and apprentices, transferring knowledge and experience.
• Completing required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents via handwritten forms or business systems.
• Completing training aligned with skill and business requirements.
• Maintaining service vehicles and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
• Adhering to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and reporting issues or incidents.

About the role:

• Work involves maintenance contracts (PMs), startups, and installations.
• Location: Ottawa and surroundings (Gatineau Valley across QC bridge), including CNL in Deep River.
• Working hours are typically from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with flexibility required (possible 4x10 or 5x8 schedules) and some weekend work.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting hourly rate is $44, depending on experience. Additional benefits vary by location and may include a Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, and other personal and professional benefits.
