Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support, maintenance, and repair services to clients at various locations.
  • Diagnose hydraulic system issues such as leaks, pressure loss, or faulty valves.
  • Repair and replace problematic components when feasible and approved by the customer.
  • Recreate customer failures and identify actual causes using analytical tools like 5 whys, ANOVA, DOE.
  • Support customers onsite to resolve quality concerns.
  • Maintain strong communication between customers and office staff.
  • Review customer non-conformity areas to support claims and replacements.
  • Issue RMAs with detailed failure modes for quick resolution.
  • Use 8D reporting format to document and resolve product issues.
  • Assign and follow up on tasks to team members.
  • Submit process changes and Engineering Change Requests as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Location:

The candidate can work remotely within Iowa, with daily travel to customer sites. Preferred residencies include Waterloo, Des Moines, Dubuque, Ottumwa, Moline, or East Moline areas.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 90-100% within the region, including extended stays.

Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety:

  • Participate in developing and adhering to Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety policies.
  • Ensure personal and team safety, report risks or incidents.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Work primarily at customer manufacturing sites with variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • Exposure to oils, sealants, and other industrial materials.
  • Required to wear safety gear as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience or an Associate degree in Engineering or related field.
  • NFPA certification preferred.
  • Background in fluid mechanics and hydraulic circuits.
  • Basic computer skills and professional communication abilities.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus; training can be provided.
  • Knowledge of MiniTab is desirable.

Additional Information

The hourly pay range is $28.00 to $32.00, based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health plans, 401(k), wellness programs, paid time off, and education reimbursement. Future sponsorship for work authorization is not available; must have indefinite U.S. work authorization.
