Job summary

emergiTEL Inc. is seeking a Utilities Superintendent to oversee the recovery process supporting kraftmill operations, including recovery boiler, evaporation, stripping, tall oil and turpentine recovery.

The role demands drive to improve health, safety, efficiency and cost targets at the site. You will lead the Utilities and Maintenance departments, ensure compliance, manage priorities, and participate in monthly budget reviews.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must hold a 2nd Class Power Engineer certificate.
  • Excellent communicator with ability to listen to employees and incorporate feedback into operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, prioritizing and delegation skills.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada at time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Lead the Utilities Department to achieve targets for health and safety, operations, production, and costs.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement training programs for the team to maintain and improve quality and efficiency.
  • Participate in monthly operation/budget reviews and maintain dialogue with the union.
  • Build a positive relationship between the Utilities and Maintenance Departments.
