Canadian Kraft Paper Industries Ltd in The Pas is seeking an entry-level Power Engineer to join the Steam and Recovery team. You will help ensure safe and efficient operation of the Recovery and Power Boilers and begin progression toward operator level.

The position is full-time in a unionized environment. Requirements include Grade 12, a 4th Class Power Engineering Ticket (with ability to obtain 3rd Class), strong safety focus, good math and communication skills, and the ability to work 12-hour

Overview

As a Power Engineer in our 1st Class Plant, you will be reporting to the Steam and Recovery Supervisor and responsible to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Recovery and Power Boilers. In this entry-level position, the incumbent will perform general labourer duties, working in a line of progression, up to the operator level in the Steam and Recovery department.

We are currently recruiting for - 4th class and 3rd class power engineers (entry-level positions)

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma
• 4th Class Power Engineering Ticket with the ability to obtain 3rd Class is required;
• Able to work both independently and in a team environment;
• Strong focus on safety;
• Able to analyze and trouble shoot;
• Strong math skills
• Strong communication skills;
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts days and nights on a 4 on and 4 off rotation
• Essential Skills Assessment Pass required if you do not have a 4th Class Power engineering ticket (You will be contacted for next steps here, if you are selected)

Work Conditions

This is a unionized position. The starting wage of an entry level rate of pay for a 4th and 3rd Class power Engineer is $33.16 hourly as per the Collective Agreement.
