Winters Technical Staffing is seeking a General Labour – Polisher for a world-class precision manufacturer. The role operates on the 2:00 pm to 12:00 am shift, four days a week (Monday to Thursday).

Selected candidates will train on days for 3–4 weeks, with permanent status after a 3-month probation period. The job involves sheet metal finishing/polishing in production, following work orders, and adhering to safety and 5S standards.

They use state-of-the-art machining and fabrication techniques in a lean, self-directed work team manufacturing environment to produce high value-added, cost-effective products for their strategic partners.

Position: General Labour / Polisher

1 for the afternoon shift 2:00 pm to 12:00 am 4 days a week Monday to Thursday)

Selected candidate will be training on days for 3-4 weeks.

Permanent after 3 months of probation

Responsibilities

We are looking for a General Labor – Polisher to work in Production Department.

• Perform sheet metal finishing/polishing duties in accordance with work orders and inspection sheets - using angle grinders, die grinders, stroke sander, files and other metal contouring and finishing tools.
• Read and interpret work orders
• Perform quality work as required in work orders in a timely fashion
• Actively participate in safety training and demonstrate competency by effectively resolving safety issues or bringing them to the attention of management
• Understand and comply with Company Health & Safety standards and programs
• Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards
• Use initiative to take corrective actions
• Work overtime and shifts as required

Education and Experience

• Prior work experience in working with sheet metal (e.g. grinding and finishing stainless steel products) using angle grinders, die grinders, stroke sander, files, and other metal contouring and finishing tools.
• High school or equivalent
• Responsible and reliable
• Stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of work day
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouch
• Physically capable of performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position including regular lifting and carrying of 5-23 kgs
• Ability to use hands to reach and to handle or feel
• Manual dexterity in hands for tool usage
• Ability to visibly inspect product
• Will be trained on crane/hoist and/or forklift as required
• Work well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
• Good interpersonal skills; customer focused and a team player
• Basic written and oral communication in English.
