Job summary

Mahler Machining, a leading Western Canada manufacturer, is hiring an Assembly & Finishing Technician for the Day Shift (7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday) to perform mechanical assembly, hardware installation and metal finishing on high‑precision components.

You will use hand tools, measuring equipment and deburring machines, follow detailed drawings and procedures, and maintain quality and safety in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components according to drawings and work instructions.
  • Install hardware such as bushings, dowel pins, threaded inserts and fasteners.
  • Perform deburring, polishing and other metal finishing operations.
  • Operate deburring and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Use hand and power tools and basic measuring equipment.
  • Record work and part movements in the ERP system.
  • Identify quality concerns and communicate them to the team.
  • Assist with developing and improving assembly processes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Support other production activities as needed.

About The Role

We’re hiring an Assembly & Finishing Technician to join our fast‑growing production team. The position will perform mechanical assembly, hardware installation, deburring, polishing, and other finishing operations on high‑precision machined components. You will use hand tools, measuring equipment, and specialized deburring and finishing machines. The role is on the Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform mechanical assembly of precision‑machined components.
  • Install hardware such as bushings, dowel pins, threaded inserts, fasteners, and other components.
  • Perform deburring, polishing, blending, and other metal‑finishing operations.
  • Operate automated and semi‑automated deburring and finishing equipment.
  • Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, presses, and basic measuring equipment.
  • Follow drawings, work instructions, photographs, and assembly procedures.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure parts meet quality and appearance requirements.
  • Accurately record completed work and part movement in our ERP system.
  • Identify quality concerns and communicate them to the appropriate team member.
  • Assist with developing and improving assembly and finishing processes.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Support other production activities when required.
