HERD NORTH AMERICA in Winnipeg is seeking a Polishing Technician to refine and polish surfaces using grinders, sanders, and polishers. The role emphasizes quality control, production recording, and strict adherence to safety standards in a high-temperature, noisy environment.

The position is full-time, permanent, with day and evening shifts. Starting wage is $19.50 per hour, and candidates should be capable of standing long hours and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with hand tools such as grinders, sanders, and polishers.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, construction or industrial environment is ideal.
• This role requires long periods of standing and the requirement to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in performing tasks within a work setting with elevated temperatures, dust, and high noise levels.
• Able to wear a full-face respirator while working.
• Must own safety boots
• Reliable transportation, as HERD is not accessible via public transportation routes

Responsibilities

• Grind welds from aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel components.
• Sand to a polishable finish on aluminum and stainless-steel components
• Polish aluminum and stainless-steel components to a mirror finish
• Conduct quality inspections throughout the polishing process
• Complete production records, quality reports, and other required documentation accurately
• Strictly adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment

  Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 7am - 3:30pm
  Evening Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:30pm - 11:30pm
