Job summary

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Red Seal Plumber to join the Fredericton team on a full-time basis. The role involves daytime hours with an on-call rotation every thirteenth week and duties ranging from reading blueprints to installing and testing plumbing systems.

Ideal candidates will have an Apprenticeship or trade certification, be reliable and punctual, and possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of Apprenticeship Program or trade certification.
• Must be reliable, punctual and skilled in the field.
• Must possess good interpersonal communication and teamwork.
• Must be flexible and able to work evenings/weekends.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems.
• Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors.
• Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools.
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
• Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• May complete non plumbing related tasks from time to time.
• Other duties as required.

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Red Seal Plumber to join our team in Fredericton on a full-time basis. This role is Monday to Friday during daytime hours with participation in an on-call rotation every thirteenth week.

What you will do:
