Job summary

McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking a qualified plumber to install, modify, repair and maintain a range of plumbing systems in the Ferrier Building. The role requires steam fitting and gas licenses, a relevant certificate, and ASP safety training.

Fluency in English and French is required; duties include preventive maintenance, safety adherence and collaboration with Facilities Management staff. This is a full-time on-site position in Montreal.

Qualifications

• Must have the Certificat en plomberie from Emploi-Québec OR Certificat de Compétence Compagnon (Plombier).
• Steam fitting license (required).
• Gas license (required).
• ASP Safety card (required).
• English and French functional spoken and read; written in one language is sufficient.

Responsibilities

• Installs, modifies, replaces, repairs and maintains plumbing accessories and systems including sanitary, heating, cooling, compressed air, high‑pressure steam networks, natural gas and drainage.

Position Summary

The incumbent installs, modifies, replaces, repairs and maintains plumbing accessories such as: sanitary, heat and cooling systems; compressed air; high-pressure steam networks; natural gas and drainage systems.

Qualifications

• Must have the "Certificat en plomberie" from Emploi-Québec OR "Certificat de Compétence Compagnon (Plombier)".
• Steam fitting license (required).
• Gas license (required).
• ASP Safety card (required).
• Preventive and troubleshooting experience are an asset.
• English and French functional spoken and read, English or French functional written.

Additional Details

Status: Full-Time

Hours of Work: 38.75 hours/week

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The incumbent will be required to wear a mask and other required personal protective equipment (PPE) when working in designated areas.
