Empire Life is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to lead the internal development platform (IDP) across Azure and Google Cloud. You’ll champion a product-minded approach, empower developers with self-service capabilities, and drive secure, scalable platform solutions.

You will manage a cross-functional team, establish platform engineering principles, and advance DX with sophisticated CI/CD, GitOps (ArgoCD), and observability using OpenTelemetry and Datadog.

Qualifications

• University degree/college diploma in related discipline(s).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles, with at least 2–3 years in a Platform Engineer capacity.

Responsibilities

• Define, architect, and evolve the internal development platform (IDP) to align with strategy and security best practices.
• Lead a cross-functional team, mentor engineers, and drive process improvements for delivery velocity.
• Promote platform engineering as a product mindset with self-service DX improvements.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps with ArgoCD for Kubernetes deployments.
• Oversee containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes) across multi-cloud environments.
• Collaborate with security, product, and architecture teams to embed DevSecOps and governance.
