Job summary

MMC in Canada is seeking a Production Leader to oversee safety, equipment reliability and process performance across the plant. You will drive daily production targets and ensure quality and environmental guidelines are followed.

Lead shift teams, coordinate with maintenance and other departments, and report on activities, safety meetings, and production metrics. This role emphasizes safety leadership, teamwork and timely decision making.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Commits to working safely at all times and on all sites. Shows safety leadership by reinforcing safety messages at all times.
• Production: Protect the plant’s equipment and maximize its utilization and reliability. Produce the forecasted quantities and quality of raw mix, clinker and cement minimizing non-compliance.
• Operations & Turnarounds: Manage the major turnarounds in terms of labour. Ensure control parameters of the lab, control room and field are met; coordinate decisions with the team.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Represent the production department when coordinating with other departments; promote good relations with maintenance and production.
• Team Leadership & Communication: Provide leadership and ensure communication within a team to achieve production objectives.
• Reporting & Management Support: Report on shift activities and safety meetings; provide coverage for the Production Manager; complete weekly payroll for the production teams.
• Employee Relations & Training: Administer Collective Agreement terms; provide grievance counseling; coordinate production employee training.
• Standards & Goal Achievement: Ensure productivity, housekeeping and quality standards are met; achieve personal and departmental goals.
• Safety culture: Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments.
• Misc: Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours across all work environments.
