Position Overview

Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor that works on projects involving the construction of oil & gas facilities, including oil sands processing, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, and major mine developments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project
  • Complete a plan and specification review for an assigned project
  • Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid document
  • Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews
  • Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements
  • Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages
  • Assist in field surveying and work layout support
  • Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets
  • Participate in jobsite safety reviews and training
  • Perform material takeoffs from drawings and specifications
  • Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal
  • Assist in preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts
  • Assist in schedule maintenance and performing updates
  • Assist with entering data into the job cost system
  • Assist in generating change orders and as-built data
Qualifications
  • 4-5+ years' construction field experience with a focus on piping
  • Work experience in engineering and leading engineers
  • Undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, construction management, or equivalent
  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed
  • Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans
  • Ability to access all points of a construction site
  • Highly motivated with a passion for excellence
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Passion for safety
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
