Job summary

Dynacare is seeking a Laboratory Assistant float in Midland region to obtain quality blood samples and perform patient tests in line with our mission and values. You will support a collaborative team and ensure accurate data entry and a positive patient experience.

The role requires phlebotomy training, customer focus, and strong attention to detail; it is a permanent full-time float with 30 hours guaranteed and on-site work in Midland and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Secondary School completion and Laboratory Assistant training or Medical Lab Assistant with phlebotomy training.
• Commitment to customer-focused care and patient wellbeing.
• Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture and manage anxious patients professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadline-oriented conditions.

Responsibilities

• Create an ideal customer experience that is best in class and engages with patients and Dynacare products/services.
• Accurately enter data, patient, and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions.
• Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients using venipuncture techniques in line with Dynacare values.
• Sort and steer specimens, perform ECGs, Holter hookups, paternity, urine, drug, and breath alcohol collections as required.
• Ensure specimens and documentation are complete per SOPs and ready for data entry and transport to the laboratory.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and quality indicators.
