Job summary

Dynacare in Guelph, ON is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to obtain quality blood samples and perform patient tests, contributing to a compassionate patient experience.

The role includes venipuncture, data entry for Ministry of Health requisitions, and adhering to SOPs to support lab operations.

You will join a team that values empathy, accuracy, and professionalism, with day shifts and a 12-month contract.

Qualifications

• Must have Secondary School completion and a lab assistant training or Medical Lab Assistant course with phlebotomy.
• MLPAO/CSMLS certification strongly recommended.
• Fluent English communication required.

Responsibilities

• Create an ideal customer experience and engage with patients about Dynacare products and services.
• Accurately enter data, patient and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions.
• Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients using venipuncture.
• Sort and steer specimens, perform ECGs, Holter hookups, urine and breath alcohol collections.
• Ensure documentation is complete and ready for data entry and transport to the laboratory; follow SOPs.
