Job summary

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a temporary basis. You will perform final medication verification before dispensing and support purchasing and supply management, ensuring accurate documentation and patient communication.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with bilingual English/French proficiency preferred to serve our diverse community.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a registered Pharmacy Technician (R.Ph.T) with unrestricted Part A license by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and supply management.
  • Ability to perform final medication verification before dispensing to patients.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; good interpersonal skills.

Position Information

Temporary until July 01, 2027.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, evenings and nights, including weekends, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
  • Licensed as a registered Pharmacy Technician (R.Ph.T) with an unrestricted Part A license by the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP);
  • Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;
  • Knowledge of purchasing and supply management;
  • Ability to perform final medication verification before dispensing to patients;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).

The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.
