Job summary

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a Float Oncology Pharmacist to join our team. You will provide expert pharmaceutical care across oncology services, ensuring safe and effective drug therapy for complex patient populations in a multi-campus hospital.

Key requirements include a BSc in Pharmacy and Ontario Pharmacist license, with strong teaching, leadership and communication skills. This role offers a dynamic hospital setting with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent combination of training/experience as determined by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Registration as a Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists with an unrestricted Part A license.
  • Working knowledge of modern hospital care and drug therapy.
  • Ability to supervise/lead/coach/mentor.
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting, in particular float oncology assignments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal drug therapy and patient safety.

Rotation/Shifts

Days and nights, including weekends, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
  • Baccalaureate of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized university OR an equivalent combination of training and experience as determined by the Ontario College of Pharmacists;
  • Registration as a Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists with an unrestricted Part A license;
  • Working knowledge of modern hospital care and drug therapy;
  • In-depth understanding of use, composition and clinical effects of drugs;
  • Ability to supervise/lead/coach/mentor;
  • Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent teaching skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
