The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor (PTS) is a registered Pharmacy Technician who practices within their scope of practice with a commitment to putting people first, quality, and medication safety.
The PTS collaborates with the Pharmacy Leadership team and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide leadership to pharmacy technicians within the oncology program at the respective campuses. The role is accountable for the operational leadership and coordination of pharmacy technician medication distribution systems complying with federal and provincial legislation, regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, best practices, professional standards, and hospital policies and consideration of service level agreements/applicable contracts.
Key responsibilities include providing day-to-day operational leadership and supervision of the pharmacy technician team; supporting workforce planning, scheduling, performance management, and professional development; contributing to medication stewardship, pharmacy informatics initiatives, quality improvement, and resource management under the direction of the Pharmacy Oncology and Pharmacy Operations Manager.
This position has a primary home base at the General Campus (TOHCC). The successful candidate will typically work four (4) days per week at the General Campus, and one (1) day per week at the Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre. This schedule may be adjusted periodically subject to operational needs. The successful candidate may also be required to work at the Civic Campus, as needed.
Days, 8-hour shifts.
