Job summary

The Ottawa Hospital in Ottawa, ON, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary position through January 31, 2027. The role requires current BCLS/CPR, a College of Nurses of Ontario registration, and recent critical care experience.

Qualifications

  • Recent Critical Care experience required.

  • Committed to patient teaching and education of patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care as part of the health care team.
  • Participate in patient teaching and discharge planning.
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies and protocols.
  • Support a patient-centered care approach across shifts.

Position Information

Temporary position until January 31, 2027 approximately.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, including on call on evenings and weekends, 8 hour shifts. Must be available for stand by and call back - 30 minutes return time to work.

Basic Requirements
  • Current BCLS/CPR;
  • Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Recent Critical Care experience;
  • Critical thinking skills;
  • Demonstrates a sound knowledge of the Nursing process;
  • Demonstrates a desire and ability to participate in patient teaching;
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills;
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team;
  • Identifies a commitment to personal continuing education activities;
  • Demonstrates understanding of and participation in the evaluation process;
  • Demonstrates an awareness and adherence to hospital policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrates professional and respectful attitude with patients and colleagues;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent radiology experience;
  • Nursing degree;
  • Specialty certification (ACLS, critical care nursing course, relevant CNA certification).
