Job summary

Lawtons Drugs in Halifax is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. You will support prescription assembly, data entry, and customer service to ensure accurate dispensing and patient care.

You will handle in-person and phone refill requests, participate in compounding and profile programs, and assist with inventory, schedules, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced community pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry.
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs.
• Compounding.
• Pill Pack Assembly.
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning.
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.).
• BTC management
• Administrative duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required
