Job summary

Lawtons in Sydney, Cape Breton, is seeking friendly, knowledgeable pharmacy assistants to join our team. You will be part of a pharmacy team committed to patient-centered care and meeting health needs of our patients.

Responsibilities include prescription assembly, processing transactions, handling refill requests, compounding, pill packs, inventory, and supporting clinical services such as medication reviews. Preference for a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma and prior pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries
• Promote Profile programs
• Compounding
• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)
• BTC management
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required
